At Habitat for Humanity, we believe in fostering strong communities, starting with our youngest members. Introducing Buddy Benches – a simple yet powerful initiative designed to create safe havens for elementary school children during recess. These benches serve as more than just a place to sit; they’re a bridge to friendship and inclusion.
Currently, our Buddy Benches are on the playgrounds of 9 schools and non-profits working with children in Cleveland County, where children find comfort and companionship, even on days when they feel a little lost. Partnering with local nonprofits, we’ve created a network of support, ensuring no child is left out during playtime.
But our mission doesn’t stop there. We’re thrilled to announce our expansion into rural Potawatomie County, in collaboration with the Sooner SUCCESS Coalition. Together, we’re bringing Buddy Benches to schools in this area, making a difference one bench at a time.
Join us in building a world where no child feels alone. Together, we’re creating smiles, forging friendships, and nurturing a sense of belonging. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Let’s make recess a time of joy and unity for every child!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, whose generosity fuels this essential initiative:
