August Update!

The build on Willow Street in Noble is moving forward at full-steam. The sheetrock installation has been completed, so the team from Mcfarlin UMC has moved on to texturing and painting the interior of the home! Next up for the house is cabinet installation and finish work, with landscaping following shortly after. We expect the family to be moving in by mid-October!

After myriad delays due to weather and scheduling conflicts, the framing of the home on Iowa Street in Norman is expected to commence at the beginning of September. The front yard of the home will be getting a special piece of natural decor—also expected to appear sometime in September.

Our remodeling project in Moore is nearing completion! The home is in the final stages of make-ready, with the painting finished and the flooring complete, and the family is hoping to move in sometime in September.

Coming up soon:

We’ve chosen Noble as the site of our next build, and we plan to construct the home using an alternative building technique that will save money and resources for the prospective owner. To construct the home we plan to use a material called Insulated Concrete Form blocks. ICF blocks combine the strength of concrete with insulation ratings between R22 and R30 in most cases.

Since we construct homes, we’re constantly on the lookout for land. Currently we’re seeking land in Norman. If we can select the land for the build in the following month, then we should be able to begin construction of that home after the start of the new year.

We’re discussing designs and build options for small, single person homes that could be build quickly and inexpensively in both Moor and Norman. We’re currently consulting with a local architect firm, and we will be able to plan the project for next year—if we can secure sufficient funding for a program of that magnitude.

That is where you come in! We have a lot of plans, and that means we will need a lot of help. The money and time given to us by the citizens of our community help house local families and help them grow roots in the place we call home.
