Ben is the Chief Operating Officer at HailTrace, an Edmond-based weather and forensics company. With a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Meteorology, Ben has dedicated his career to the private weather sector, specializing in radar data and severe weather. A board member since 2021, Ben serves as Governing Board Member and was recently elected Vice Chair. These roles are his way of giving back to the community.

Amber is a Product Support Manager with The Boeing Co. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Oklahoma in 2006, she found her niche in the technical publications field, starting as a Technical Writer. Her awareness of the need for affordable housing grew after purchasing her first home in 2015. This realization, combined with her desire to help others achieve the dream of homeownership, led her to join the Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity Board. Amber also serves as the chair of the Community Relations and Development Committee.

Jess is a Business Development Representative with TokenEx, dedicated to being a stepping stone to success for her clients, colleagues, and acquaintances. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Jess began her relationship with Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer on the Coffee Festival Committee, which eventually led to her joining the board. Driven by a desire to give back to the community that supported her, Jess now serves as co-chair of the newly formed Client Solutions Committee. In this role, she helps newly selected homeowners learn how to care for and maintain their new investment.

Professor of Organizational Communication

University of Oklahoma - Department of Communication

Dr. Ryan Bisel is a Professor of Organizational Communication, specializing in leadership communication, organizational culture, and behavioral ethics. His 2018 book, “Organizational Moral Learning: A Communication Approach” (Routledge), received two Book of the Year Awards from the National Communication Association. He was also honored as the 2019 Kinney-Sugg Outstanding Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Bisel’s motivation to serve on the Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity Board comes from his belief in the organization’s ability to make affordable housing a reality. For him, it’s about loving others and promoting the well-being of Norman and the surrounding areas.

Associate Professor of Architecture

University of Oklahoma - College of Architecture

David is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in housing issues such as aging in place and creating age-friendly communities. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design, a Bachelor of Architecture, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma. As a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), David is currently developing age-friendly and affordable housing units in Norman. He has been appointed to various ad hoc citizen committees to oversee updates to the city’s ADA Transition Plan and to help develop an accessible housing policy in Norman. With 40 years of experience participating in Habitat for Humanity projects around the OKC area, David serves on multiple committees on the Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity board. He recognizes the critical need for affordable housing both locally and globally. By joining the Habitat board, David aims to design sustainable, affordable housing that is not only historically valuable but also aesthetically pleasing.

Vice President - Commercial Lender

Matt is the Vice President of Commercial Lending for First United Bank. He began his finance career as a teller in 2011 while studying finance at the University of Central Oklahoma after serving 12 years in the US Army Infantry. His background in finance and his dedication to community service make him a valuable Treasurer for Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity. He also serves as Board Chair for Fostering Futures. Matt’s commitment to Habitat stems from a belief in the organization’s mission to provide safe, affordable housing. He views homeownership as a foundation for family safety, healthier living, and economic opportunities, with the power to change generations. Recognized for his leadership, Matt has received the Norman Next Under 40 Award and was a 2023 Norman Transcript Readers’ Choice nominee for Best Banker. Born and raised in Norman, OK, Matt enlisted in the US Army in 1999. He is a graduate of Leadership Norman 2018 and the Citizens of Norman Police Academy. Currently, he is completing the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Wharton, with graduation expected in 2024.
