As you may have realized, Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity has a new website, and a new name. On August 12th, 2022, we have become Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity!
You might be wondering why we decided to change our name, why we changed it to Rose Rock Habitat for Humanity, and why now?
At Rose Rock Habitat, we are always looking to expand our impact in the community, and we are broadening the spectrum and scope of our programs. With future expansion in mind, we explored different names that would encapsulate the spirit of central Oklahoma. Ultimately, we selected the iconic Rose Rock as our namesake. Central Oklahoma is one of the only locations these crystal formations occur in the natural world, and we could think of nothing more emblematic of the heart of our state.
We celebrated our change in name on August 12th with a Ribbon Cutting event attended by members of the Chambers of commerce in Norman, Moore, and South Oklahoma City. Not Your Average Joe provided excellent cold-brew coffee for the celebration, and Spirals: Hot Dogs and More supplied a generous amount of their signature Dogs (picked up by Mary Cornelsen of Center for Children and Families)! The Baked Bear was there to vend their sweet desserts for those who attended, and Norman Stamp & Seal granted us some great items by YETI to be given away at our in-store drawing that day, as well! The event was energized by the presence of The REF Sports Radio Network (94.7 FM), who was present to talk sports and share the news of our ribbon cutting.
Other special guests included BNI – Business 2 Business OK, and Leadership Norman 2022.
